Oil Change

Listening to someone saying that he bought a new car and the manufacturer recommends only changing oil when the light comes on in the dash. Is that the same light that lets one know when the oil level is low? Actually when that idiot light comes on you have 10 seconds to pull over and shut the motor off before it blows...

  1. Ive heard that... but I don't trust them I change mine every 5-7500 depending on driving conditions type of oil and filter I buy etc... also depending on how often the trailers behind me

  2. I think it depends on how long you intend to keep your car. If you are going to get rid of it before the warranty runs out, don't even bother changing the oil. If you plan on keeping it till it has 200,000+ change it every 3,000 miles.
