Trans went out

The transmission in my 1995 GMC K2500 Suburban went out. Has anyone used Jasper for engines or transmissions? They include a 3yr/100000 mile parts labor warranty.

  1. have Jasper Rebuilders for over 30 years and have only had 2 issues that were covered under their warrenty and both were with Ford engines in the same model year. I personnally have a Jasper trans in my 96 Ford E350 w/ OD. It has almost 150K on it with no issues.

  2. Thanks for the reply, Tim. I told my mechanic to order the trans from Jasper even though I may have to take out a second mortgage to pay for it;-(
Can't believe that a 4L80E trans would burn up clutches with only 149,000 miles...

  3. You know a Good Trans Cooler Saves the Life of the Trany, right. Espicially IF it's towing a hefty package or going up and down grades like mountians or constantly running. Mines half the size of the radiator and 6 inches in front of it so as not to restrict the air flow or overheat the cooler. I still goes thru the radiator part to help warm it up in this sub-zero ice mit State

  4. The Suburban has a trans cooler in front of the radiator next to the electric fan. I had a 1969 Dodge van with over 200,000 miles and the only problem with the tranny was it had morning sickness. As I pulled a tandem axle trailer, I installed a trans cooler which probably added mileage to it.
