1999 Cadillac Deville running Hot

i have a 1999 Cadillac Deville and it started running hot. i changed the thermostat, water pump, antifreeze and it's still overheating. no blown head gasket. runs for about 2 hours before it over heats after starting and driving. any answers would be helpful. thanks.

  1. You can check the radiator and heater core. they may be clogged and need to be flushed out?

  2. that used to be a common problem and we had to pull the radiator and have it boiled out and then when reinstalling, thoroughly clean the AC condensors fins of all the dead bugs and birds that had died on there during driving the last 15 years. There always seems to be a buildup of dried grass and other junk between the radiator and the condenser. All that stuff impedes airflow. Also, is that an electric cooling fan or is it a belt driven clutch fan. If its a clutch fan, the sensor in the clutch could be bad, they do go bad after so long.

  3. Take a hose and blow from the engine side outside to remove all the road stuff accumulated over the years as mentioned before.

  4. be sure to check radiator, coolant and water, these are usual signs for overheating to look out for
